Imagine if you will that there is a very old, worldwide religious organization that has officially held for over 460 years that the Christian doctrine of salvation by grace alone and justification by faith alone (Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-9) is in fact anathema (a damning heresy according to the Council of Trent). Further, the teachings of this cult deny the sufficiency of the death of Christ to atone for the sins of His people as the Bible teaches that He died “once for all” (Hebrews 7:27; 9:12; 10:10).

Imagine that for salvation to occur, the sacrifice of Christ must be mingled with your good works and the performance of multiple sacraments. After that, Christ must be sacrificed again at the altar by the priest at every Mass, where Christ’s body is offered and His blood is re-shed. And even if you attend a thousand Masses, yet even then they insist dogmatically that you must spend thousands of years in purgatory being purged of your sinfulness before you are able to enter into the presence of God. The Bible teaches that “there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1) because Christ will present us “blameless” before the Father (Colossians 1:21-23). Christ cannot be offered again (Hebrews 10:26) because the first and only offering was sufficient. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Now imagine that you must also include Mary, the mother of Jesus, as co-redemptrix and co-mediator of the New Covenant, contrary to 1 Timothy 2:5, which states clearly that “there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” If that isn’t enough, what if this religious organization was led by a man claiming to be the Vicar of Christ, that is, the embodiment and representation of Christ on the earth who can speak infallibly? And this Vicar of Christ, who denies the very truth of the gospel itself, claims to be God’s mouthpiece on earth, even more reliable that the Holy Scriptures. Never mind that by his beliefs and actions he is easily proven to be an anti-christ (another christ – a false christ) (1 John 2:18-23; Matthew 24:23-24).

Now imagine that another religious cult, which also denies the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, teaches that God was once a man who earned the right to become a God, and was given his own planet to populate by the spirit children that will be born to him and his wife for all eternity. They also teach that 2 of these spirit children, who are brothers, are Lucifer and Jesus – the ultimate good cop/bad cop of the universe. We can forget for a moment that God always has been God, from eternity He has always been and there is no other God beside Him (Isaiah 43:10; 44:8; Psalm 90:2; Malachi 3:6). And never mind that Jesus was not created as a spirit being, but is eternal God, the Second person of the Trinity, who has always been and will always be (John 1:1-3). Lucifer also is not a spirit child of God, but a mighty Angel who was cast out of heaven for his rebellion against God (Luke 10:18; Isaiah 14:12-21).

Now imagine that someone wanted to create the best ever production about the life and ministry of Jesus. They planned and pulled off the most elaborate story telling, sets, costumes, and had phenomenal actors to portray Jesus and his disciples. To be absolutely sure that this production was of the highest quality and accuracy, the production team, consultants, and key actors include members and leaders from the two cults listed above – the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of Latter Day Saint (Mormons).

How on earth can it be said that this production is “Christian art?” It is influenced by the anti-christ and heretics who deny the gospel itself and the truth about who God is and who Jesus is and how the Holy Spirit works. These cults are not Christian churches. They teach the doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1-3).

The Bible says we are forbidden from being unequally yoked together with unbelievers (2 Cor. 6:14-16) yet the producer of this supposed Biblical fiction proclaims loudly and often that members of these 2 cults “love the same same Jesus” as evangelical Christians and that we are all “brothers and sisters” in the faith. Would anyone in their right mind think that this man is giving us a Christian production? Only if they have been deceived.

Fools add to the Word of God, believing that it is not sufficient. And without a twinge of guilt they disobey its most basic principles (Exodus 20:4-6; Deut. 4:15-24; Rev. 22:18-19). These deceived people believe that telling a lie can bring people to the truth, thinking a poorly presented Christ will still bring people to Christ. Yet we see in the Bible that when the demons cried out and testified with 100% accuracy about who Jesus was, He rebuked them and stopped their mouths, casting them out (Mark 1:34). Why? Because they know the truth – but the Word of God is not spread by fallen angels or advanced by servants of the Father of lies. When Satan uses Scripture, he twists it to accomplish his purposes to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10).

By the Way, you don’t have to imagine any of this. This is all real. If you have not guessed by now, this production is the “The Chosen.” It is not a Christian production. It is a blasphemy and an anathema (Galatians 1:6-9). It is inspired by Satan himself appearing as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14) in order to deceive, if possible, even the elect. It presents another God, a different Jesus, and is overseen by those who deny the very heart of the gospel and the truths of Scripture. Don’t be deceived. Test all things. Abhor what is evil and cling to what is good (1 Thess. 5:21 ; Romans 12:9).

He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22). What He says is contained in the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures, and they are sufficient.
