Here are a few of our sermons from Christmas present and past that we hope will inspire an encourage you as we remember especially at this time of year what it means that God has become a Man.

Christmas Present (2008)
Sermons from Cheltenham Evangelical Free Church

Mary’s True Beauty – Luke 1:39-56

Mary is often misunderstood and misrepresented. Here we look at her true beauty – that is, what was within her soul – which she demonstrated by what she said and how she behaved. We examine the ‘Magnificat’, Mary’s hymn of praise to God, and ask: Are we like Mary? Do we give God the glory that He is due?

The Death of Fear in the Birth of Christ – Luke 2:10-11

All is quiet on the hills outside Bethlehem until an angel scares the living daylights out of some shepherds! He tells them ‘Do not be afraid’ and explains that the Saviour has come. This is a well-known Christmas text, but what does it have to do with us in the 21st century? What is a Saviour? What do we need to be saved from? How can Jesus Christ deal with our fears? What does it mean to be a Christian? This short message from our 2008 Carol Service answers all these questions and more.
